Stories About Selling:
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Thursday January 20, 2005

January is always a good time to get a fresh start and think about what we want to achieve in the new year. Do you want some inspiration to energize you for 2005? Join us for an entertaining night when we hear your stories, fears, challenges and joys about going out and marketing yourself and selling your wares - the good and the bad. Take this opportunity to release some stress - stop marketing yourself and just plain laugh about it. This is an evening where every voice and any story - however ordinary, extraordinary, hidden or difficult might be heard and told and brought to life by a professional troupe of actors and musicians.

Our special guests are from the Toronto Playback Theatre Project, which is dedicated to listening to people's stories and transforming them spontaneously into theatre. Their mission is to provide organizations with dramatic, audience-interactive performances and programs that build trust, deepen dialogue and generate opportunities for personal and professional development. We had the pleasure of partaking in this interactive theatre experience and we had so much fun we just had to invite you to experience it too!

Come out, have some fun and support a great cause!

Date & Time: Thursday, January 20, 7:00 - 9:30 PM
Location: Dixon Hall, 58 Sumach Street (near Queen and Parliament)
Cost: Donation of your choice - All proceeds benefiting Dixon Hall, Career Steps
Registration: Required

Here's what they're saying about Toronto Playback:

  • "Very engaging, moving, joyful, funny, sad. Much admiration for actors - such talent, courage and freedom! I found it stimulating, creatively leading me inward and outward at the same time. Inspiring, rejuvenating, reflective. Thanks!"

  • "What a delightful, thought provoking evening. I loved to see the depth and skill of your spontaneous playback troupe. I appreciated the sensitivity of our conductor, Chris von Baeyer, and his ability to find the important threads of each story. I didn't particularly come to tell my story but it becomes clear at this intentional community event that that's why we are here - to tell, to engage, to feel deeply together. Bravo!"
